Health Benefits of Tai Chi

The benefits of practicing Tai Chi are unlimited. Tai Chi can be used as a preventive health measure, to maintain good health and/or to help with a specific disease. Although, Tai Chi cannot cure a disease but, it is often recommended as an additional therapy to conventional treatment because it can help bring relaxation, balance and harmony between body and mind. Here are some outlines of general areas of the benefits that are most commonly recognized and most thoroughly researched:

Blood Pressure – TaiChi can lower systolic blood pressure and has many benefits relating to blood circulation. It can relax and tone the muscles improving venous blood flow.

Hypertension – TaiChi works closely with the autonomic nervous system. The means it is very effective in avoiding or relieving symptoms of stress.

HeartThe rhythmic and flowing nature of Tai Chi means it assists the heart to move blood to flow thoroughly in the body, therefore, gently exercising the heart, rather then straining the heart. The heart can also gain many positive benefits from the relaxation aspects.
